Preschool Director Statement
Lutheran Church of Our Savior is truly blessed to have a preschool like Upward Bound. This program began in December 2000 with an enrollment of 12 students in a 1/2 day program. Over the years we have continued to increase our enrollment due to the many requests we receive for care. In 2008 we converted two of the Churches classrooms into added preschool space. We now have a full enrollment of 60 children per day with a total enrollment of approximately 94. We offer both 1/2 day and full day programs based on two to five days of attendance. Our school staff consists of 14 teachers.
Every month we create a balanced curriculum formed around the themes chosen for that month. Each month we teach about a community helper, a cultural child, 2 letters, colors and a bible verse. All these and more are wrapped together to make a day at Upward Bound fun and exciting. All activities are geared age appropriately. We share the love of the Lord with the children through daily bible stories, skits, music or games during our "Chapel Time". Chapel is held Monday - Friday from 8:45 - 9:15. We are so excited to have our youth pastor lead us on two of those days!
Here at Upward Bound we are always striving to reach out to the community with our annual "Snow Day", barbeques and mini concerts.
